Before I begin, a brief explanation is needed, I think. So, I have a lot of cute/cool ideas for things to happen in Just Gotta. But because it is so long, I've come to the conclusion that some of the things that aren't as necessary overall must be cut. But I still like the ideas and would like them to be read, if possible.

There are also things such as flashbacks that I think are at least a little important when understanding things that happen in the story but there isn't really a good place to put them in.

So, I've decided to write these ideas out so they can be read by you guys. They won't be in comic form, saving me some time and also saves these part of the story for you. I may eventually post them up on something like Fan Fiction.net, but for now I'll just write them here and link them on the comic.

So here is the first one. If you haven't read the most recent News Post on Smack Jeeves, Neko updated her site and commented on the fan art she gave me. This comment not only has me updating every day again, but also made me think that people might be confused about Hillaree's title of the "Mewtwo Queen." So, I decided to let you guys read how she got that title. Also, I hope it'll give a glimpse at Hillaree's life before the story started and into her personality. We still don't have a very good look at her attitude towards people. This will help . . . a little.

So here goes. Might be long. Five pages in Word, but it has double space between pargraphs. Sorry in advance.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

June Rawson stirred the contents of the pot slowly. She was slightly preoccupied while watching her two adopted daughters, Hillaree and Shellee, as they were playing their video games. They were both sitting on the couch staying mostly silent, except for the casual comment now and then.

Pokémon. June didn't know a lot about the game herself, but knew that it had both of her girls hooked. They had been playing it for years.

But this wasn't why June was watching them. She knew something that one of the girls didn't. One of the two was on a mission, but so far hadn't done anything about it. June was getting rather impatient.

The front door swung open and June's husband, Nick, walked inside. June and Shellee looked up at him. Hillaree stayed focused on her screen.

"Welcome home!" June beamed, walking around the kitchen counter so she could go over to him. He took off his jacket and hung it on a coat rack as she did so. They hugged and kissed, as per usual.

"Nice to be back," Nick smiled.

"Hi, Dad," Shellee said. "How was work?"

"The usual," he shrugged. "How was school?"

"The usual," Shellee repeated.

Nick then turned his attention to Hillaree, who still hadn't looked at him.

"What about you, Hillaree?" He asked. "Make any friends today?"

Hillaree finally looked up at him. She pointed her DS's stylus at him.

"You know," she said, "you can ask that question every day if you want to, but don't think my answer will ever change."

"We're just trying to be supportive, Hillaree," June told her carefully.

Hillaree closed her eyes and shrugged.

"I know," she said. "Just stop expecting so much." She opened her eyes and looked back at her game. "If you went to school with the idiots I do, you'd understand."

With Hillaree focus again on her game, her parents immediately looked at Shellee who looked back at them. Nick and June waved their hands at her as if to push her along. Shellee nodded slightly and looked at Hillaree.

"A few of my friends are going to start up a kind of club," she said. "We'll meet together and play Pokémon stuff. I think it'll be fun."

"That's nice," Hillaree commented unenthusiastically.

Shellee looked at her parents. They nodded. She looked back at Hillaree.

"I was thinking . . ." she said with as much courage as she could, "it might be fun if you came with me."

Hillaree hesitated and then looked up at Shellee with a dull look.

"Did they put you up to this?" she asked, motioning to their parents.

"No!" Shellee, Nick, and June all gasped in unison.

"Oh yeah," Hillaree said sarcastically, "I'm convinced."

She looked back at her game. June walked over and sat down next to her.

"We're just worried about you," she said. "You don't socialize at all. You don't have any friends."

"What the heck do I need friends for anyway?" Hillaree inquired. "I've been doing just fine without them."

June looked at Nick for help. He chimed in.

"Yours is a unique case," he said. "You're not somewhere where you are easily accepted. You may not realize it now, but sometime down the line you'll realize you're very lonely. We're just wanting to help prevent that."

Hillaree lowered her game. She didn't look at them or her game. She just looked out blankly in front of her.

"All the years I went to school with these people," she said, referring to Shellee's friends, "they didn't accept me then. What makes you think they will now?"

"You'll have a common ground," June offered. "You will all have something you love to talk about. It'll be a lot easier on all of you."

Hillaree paused again. She then looked up at them.

"There's no way I'm not going, is there," she observed.

"Pretty much," her family nodded.

Hillaree sighed. She went back to playing her game.

"Very well," she said. "If it'll make you happy, I'll go play Pokémon with these fools."

"That's all we're asking for," June said, patting Hillaree on the shoulder.

-----

The next day . . .

Hillaree sighed as she and Shellee entered the home of one of Shellee's friends. They had just gotten out of school and June had driven them over there. The rest of the "club" had already arrived.

Hillaree and Shellee were lead by one of Shellee's friends, (Hillaree didn't bother to learn her name,) into the main room where some other children were sitting. They all looked up.

"Shellee's here!" the girl who was leading them announced.

Shellee waved and then held up a hand to Hillaree.

"And you should remember my sister, Hillaree," she introduced.

The room was quiet for a moment.

"Uh, yeah," a boy said. "I think I remember you from school. How's it going?"

Hillaree shrugged.

"I'm here, aren't I?" she said.

Shellee gave her a hard look. Hillaree ignored her. She stepped towards the group.

"So what is it that we're doing first?" she asked.

"Well," another boy said as Hillaree took a seat in a chair, "we were going to trade cards first. Do you have any?"

"Yes," Hillaree muttered, getting into her book bag, "but I'm only interested in one type of card, at the moment."

"Which kind?" a girl asked.

"Mewtwo!" Shellee smiled. "Mewtwo is Hillaree's favorite Pokémon! She only wants cards of him right now."

"Tch," a boy spat, "what's so great about Mewtwo?"

Hillaree glared instantly at him. He jerked. He looked away from her nervously.

"I mean," he continued in a shaky voice, "there's no challenge with ubers like him. It makes the game too easy."

"And what's wrong with that?" Hillaree asked.

"All legendaries are the same," he mumbled, still trying to avoid looking at her. "They're just too strong to begin with. Normal Pokémon are better. They actually give you a challenge when training and playing the game. Besides, a group of well trained Pokémon can take out Mewtwo any day."

"You think so, huh?" Hillaree said. She pulled out her DS. "Let's see you prove it."

The boy looked at her. Hillaree was looking right back at him confidently.

He somehow lost his courage . . .

"That won't prove anything," he said. "Beating you with my team would just be . . . too easy."

"He does have the best team out of all of us," Shellee interjected. "He's undefeated."

"That's because I haven't been here until today," Hillaree stated. "If you're so proud of your team, then bring them on. I'll even only bring one Mewtwo."

The boy looked around at his friends, hoping to find some help or at least some excuse. Instead, what he found was encouraging looks, urging him to fight her.

Not what he had in mind.

"Okay," he weakly agreed.

-------

The boy's face went pale as his last Pokémon's HP bar dropped to zero. There were a few other children behind him, looking over his shoulder to watch the battle. Others were behind Hillaree.

Once again, there was silence in the room.

"But he's never been beaten . . ." one boy said softly.

The boy looked up at Hillaree. She was smirking at him, a look that had been on her face since the beginning of the battle.

That look was very . . . unnerving.

Hillaree's smirk then turned into a kinder smile.

"Well, they were a little tougher than I expected," she said. "Good job."

The boy knew she was just trying to be nice, but it helped a little. He smiled a little too.

"Thanks," he said.

"That was awesome!" a boy behind Hillaree said, making her look at him. "One Mewtwo took down his whole team."

"Well of course," Hillaree smiled. "Mewtwo's only the best Pokémon ever."

"I bet if he had an Arceus, it would have been a different story," a girl commented.

Hillaree pointed at her accusingly.

"Blasphemy!" she shouted.

"Hillaree hates Arceus," Shellee explained, waving a hand.

"I've never seen a Mewtwo like that," another boy stated. "And you used him so well. You're like . . . a Mewtwo queen!"

"Yeah!" a girl said. "That's what you are! Hillaree, the Mewtwo Queen!"

"That's a stupid name," Hillaree said dully.

"But it fits!" a boy agreed. "You love Mewtwo, and yours is able to beat someone no one else has!"

"The Mewtwo Queen!" a few of the other children cheered.

Hillaree grunted and rubbed her forehead.

"Are you guys always this idiotic?" she asked.

"Get used to it," Shellee smiled. "When they give you a title, it sticks."

"Great," Hillaree muttered, rolling her eyes.

"Well," the boy Hillaree had just beaten said, standing up, "Hillaree, the Mewtwo Queen, welcome to our group!"

Glad you think so! Maybe I portray Hillaree the right way then.

And thanks!

So with Page 188, we learn that Hillaree was skipped ahead in school.  I already knew about this when I wrote this little thing above.  It was hard to have the characters talking about it without directly saying it.  Just look at the discussion between Hillaree and her family and you'll see what I mean!

It also can be seen as a way that Shellee's friends needed to be introduced to Hillaree.  It had been a while since Hillaree had been skipped, so they hadn't been going to school with her for a while.  Make sense?

Cool.

Ya know, I wish my parents made me go play Pokemon with other people. That would be awsome.
