Chapter One.

It was a warm day, and people all around were bustling around the city of Lilycove.

A haughty-looking trainer was looking curiously into a Pokémon shop. After a pause, he sighed and went in.

The small room was very well taken care of. A large brown counter stood at the end of the room, and the trainer could hear loud noises coming from the back room.

"'Lo there, sir." came a voice. The trainer jumped; he did not see the rather chubby figure of the man behind the counter.

"Err...hello." Said the trainer, looking unflatteringly at the seller.

"Looking to adopt a Pokémon? We've got all sorts. Shiny ones, too, you know. They may cost a bit more..." He said, grinning, "but they're really very wonderful for Pokémon contests."

"Those are rare, aren't they?"

"Aye, they are."

The trainer looked suspiciously at him. "How many do you have?"

"Mm...'bout fifteen." the seller said, looking at the back room.

"What kind of Pokémon?"

"Oh, all sorts. Donphan, Pikachu, Eevee--"

"Eevee?" the trainer said suddenly, making the seller jump. "I'll take it!"

"Err...now...please remember, this particular Eevee is a bit...different. It has...well, I'll show you." The seller said nervously. He walked into the back room.

A few moments later, he arrived with a cage in his hands. "This is Scarlet." He said, smiling. "We named her after her beautiful eyes..."
He opened up the cage and out came a beautiful white Eevee, but with...

"That's not an Eevee," the Rookie Trainer said in an annoyed tone. "It has those..those..wings!

"It's an Eevee, it was just born different!" the Pokemon seller assured him.

"Well, I'm not buying that thing." The Trainer said in an irritated tone, then left.

"Scarlet, poor girl.." The Seller said in a sad voice,
"Why? Why couldn't you have been normal?" he asked her.

Scarlet looked like a shiny Eevee, but she had beautiful wings. Her fur was sleek and soft as silk, and her eyes were as purple as Hellebores.

"I think it's time... we let you go." The Seller said, looking at her pitifully.

Scarlet looked sadly around the room. It had been three months now, but no trainer had the heart to adopt her.

Her sister was adopted, but she was a normal looking Eevee. Her mother was a Shiny Eevee, and her father was normal, but had wings.

I must have gotten my Mother's fur colour and my Dad's wings, Scarlet thought.

When they let her go out the door of the adoption center, she strolled around the streets. I'm a Street Pokemon., Scarlet realized.

While walking around the city, she saw a little Girl playing with her Cubone.
Her sunken blue eyes glowed bright as she hugged the Pokémon, her soft brown hair slightly over her eyes.
She caught the Eevee watching her, and gave a small, audible gasp. "Mommy?" The little Girl said as she saw Scarlet. "Where did I leave the Pokeballs?"

Moments later, a woman with ruffled hair came out of the small house. "Here are your Pokeballs, Beatrice." Beatrice's Mother said, frowning. "You better be careful, you know... you can't catch someone else's Pokémon..."

"It's okey mamma, it's a street Pokémon!" Beatrice said, grinning and staring pointedly at Scarlet. "I'm gonna show her off when we go to Rustboro city to visit Uncle Joe!"

The young Eevee's eyes narrowed; she didn't want to be a ragdoll, she wanted to be a friend!

The girl stared longingly at her. She backed away slowly, and bumped into someone's legs. "Hey, what's this?" the Trainer asked. She picked Scarlet up and looked at it. "Oh my." she said, eyes widening.

The little girl, Beatrice, walked cautiously over to the trainer.

"Hello, my name is Jackie." the girl replied. "And yours?"

"Mine is Beatrice." she replied.

"I suppose you want to take this Eevee?" Jackie asked, looking concerned.

"Um....Yeah, I wanted to." Beatrice replied, looking nervous. "What is that?"

"That," Jackie said, "Is an Espeon. Her name is Kitty, however."

"What are those two?" Beatrice asked, pointing at the two Pokémon behind Jackie.

"Those are Umbreon and Buizel." Jackie said, "I also have a Glameow and Piplup, but they are back home." she smiled as she looked at her Pokémon.

"Woah, cool! You have loads more?" Beatrice asked, eyes widening.

"A few more, but I must be going." Jackie said briskly, "Here, take this ultra ball. You might need it." she smiled, waved, and walked off.

"Thanks!" Beatrice said. She threw the ultra ball, and hit Scarlet. "Eeee!" Scarlet shouted out; She was startled by the ultra ball.

Beatrice frowned at the Eevee.

Did she throw the Pokéball wrong? How was she supposed to use the Pokéball? She had never caught a Pokémon in her life, but she always dreamt of having one.

With caution, she moved over to the Eevee. It looked up at her, it's eyes glowing brightly.

Was the Eevee hurt? Beatrice frowned, looking at it.

The Eevee gave a startled growl and ran off down the road. The little girl looked sadly at the footprints it left behind...

Chapter Two

The warmth of the day faded, and drifted off to a cold, dreary night. Raindrops splashed about outside. Beatrice sat down into the livingroom, looking out the window. Even with the lamps on outside, she could barely see a thing.

She heard her mother calling from the kitchen. "Beatrice, come on. We need to pack." She sounds rather irritated, Beatrice thought.

"Momma?" she asked sadly, not taking her eyes away from the window.
"Yes, dear?" Her mother walked briskly into the room, eyeing her daughter curiously.

"Momma...is that Eevee gonna be okay?"
Her mother gave an inaudible sigh. Turning to look at her daughter, she said very gently, "Beatrice, Pokémon are smart creatures. The Eevee will get along just fine."

Beatrice felt a little better now. Getting up, she said quietly, "Will we ever run into that Eevee again?"

"Well, if we do, we'll be able to spot her!" she said, smiling. "Come on, Beatrice. Go pack. When you're done, there's soup on the table..."

Somewhere in the wild, Scarlet shivered. I don't know how wild Pokémon do it..." she thought, her eyes on the shining moon, the light raindrops splattering her with water. She gave a shriek and tried to get more comfortable, but it was no use.

"I'm a goner. Why did I ever leave the city? I should've stayed behind with the little girl..." Scarlet sighed and stretched her wings. The terrible, ugly wings she hated so. They ruined her life.

She heard Mightyena in the background howling. Her ears perked her up; other Pokémon made her nervous. She crouched down and tried to get some rest, but it was no use.

The city...she longed for it. Perhaps she could find her way there? Perhaps she could find a dirty map a trainer left behind on their travels. But no, that would be silly; she couldn't even read maps.

She listened intently for footsteps. She could find a trainer to follow...perhaps they would lead the way to the city. But trying to listen for footsteps would be useless; nobody in their right mind would go out this late at night.

Scarlet put her head down, closing her eyes. "Tommorow..." she thought, opening one eye to check if anyone was even there. She quickly closed it.
"Tommorow I will find my way back home. I swear."

I'm on Mountain time. I don't know if that helps. But that last comment you left says it went up at 1 a.m.

Oo, interesting again but . . . I have to admit the flow is a tad confusing. When people talk, it shouldn't be in one paragraph like that. It should go like this:

"Hello, my name is Jackie." the girl replied. "and yours?"
"Mine is Beatrice." she replied.
"I suppose you want to take this Eevee?" Jackie asked, looking concerned.

There are some other little things like that "and" in the "and yours?" should be capitalized.

Just thought I'd let you know! (Sorry if I'm mean. I'm like an English nut.)
