So . . . this thread is named after the chapter title . . . yeah.

. . . I haven't named her yet!

Yeah. I was hoping a name would grab me by now, but she's only like . . . uh . . . I dunno, some odd pages away from appearing for the first time and she doesn't have a name yet!

I'll think of something. I think.

Anyway, the real reason I started this thread was because I just noticed something and I thought it was funny. So we all know, (or mostly all know if you visit the gallery thread,) my cloaked hottie is based off Saix from Organization XIII. This woman appearing here is based slightly off Riku from Kingdom Hearts 2 as well. I just thought it was funny that two characters based off two characters from the same video game appearing pages away from each other . . .

I need new design influences.

I actually haven't drawn this woman from the front yet. I think I know basically how she looks though. I think. Hope. Yup.

We'll see.

So she has a name now! Kuri. That's what I came up with.

I didn't expect her to be as popular as she is. I didn't really think about it though. But glad she's liked.

I still don't know what she is. Not sure if she has a title anyway. Maybe we'll figure it out as we learn more about her.

I still don't like her very much. She's visually appealing, but so far her lines and actions have totally grated with me. XD Anyway, I'd like to bring up a weird connection.

Remember how I mentioned she'd fit right in with the Avatarverse? Well, I had been reminded of the episode "The Puppetmaster". (Not that there's much to connect, but that episode is the closest thing Avatar has gotten to downright horror. -shudders-) For those of you who don't watch the show, what happens is that a crazy old lady controls the blood inside peoples' bodies, posesses them, and leads them away to chain them up in caves. Creepy much? I tried to ignore that that woman popped into my head when I saw Kuri, but now that she's been talking about some 'other presence' posessing our dear Hilaree, the connection was too much to pass up.

And in other news, I /still/ want to see her Pokemon. What does everyone think they are? I bet she has a Chimeco and Misdreavus or some sort of wispy mysterious Pokemon.

I actually haven't seen that episode, only read about it well after Kuri was created, and only read a little. So any similarities are coincidence.

Not that I'm saying you think I copied her or something. I'm just saying that it wasn't on purpose.

One of her Pokemon will be appearing in a few pages. Others won't appear until later chapters. Sorry. You can still take guesses at what they all are though. Just hope you're not disappointed.

Heh, yay for double posting.

Until recently, I didn't really have any of Kuri's backstory worked out. And I didn't really resolve things with her either. She just kind of . . . disappeared and was never heard from again. But after I figured out certain things with her past, that helped me figure out her future as well. Go figure.

I can't really go into details, but I will say that Kuri is probably one of the deepest villains there are and will be in Just Gotta. She wasn't meant to be. She was just going some crazy lady. But now she has motives and stuff. I like her a lot more now.

I know I'm just torturing you by saying this, so I'm sorry. I just want you to know that there is stuff to look forward to with her. We will get a small glimpse into her history in the next couple chapters. And, (once I get updating again,) a big secret of hers is about to be revealed soon . . .

I find that happens a lot too. Stuff just seem to work themselves out somehow. It's funny when I start a story and put something in without a real reason, but then later there is a purpose and so everything just clicks! It's so cool!

I don't know if that makes sense, but yeah, stuff like that is fun.

I know what you mean.

In a story I've been writing off and on for the past few years, I threw something in because I was desperate, and, after a lot of re-writes, it's evolved into the central plot. It's not as bad as it sounds, I promise... xD

Kuri gives me the creeps, and she totally deserves just being left in the forest by Hillaree and co. Actually they should kill her so she can't bug them any more. Too bad good guys can't get away with stuff like that...

So, Kuri is 26 eh... I'd have imagined she'd be much older, like in her 70's or so. Must be the white hair and the odd clothing.
Up to this point I find her to be te most interesting character though.

She seems to be either loved or hated by everyone, which is good I guess. Doesn't seem to be much middle ground so maybe I've laid out her character pretty good. (I don't think that makes sense.)
