Background Artist

So . . . I'll probably do this somewhere else too or ask around a bit, but I'm looking for a background artist. (Someone to draw backgrounds for me.) Not for Just Gotta. Just Gotta updates too fast (usually) and pages are done for the most part the same day they go up, not giving anyone else much time to do stuff with it. Maybe down the line if I ever get ahead enough, then maybe I'd get someone for Just Gotta.

But anyway, yeah, this would be for a different comic called "Reversible." It takes place mostly in a city so this artist would have to be able to draw buildings, cars, street lights, possibly parks, and stuff like that.

They'd have to be able to draw these things on a computer. I'd draw up the main pictures, and they'd draw everything in the background, whatever that maybe. Then I'd put it up on the comic for the world to see.

So if you know anyone, or would like to try it yourself, let me know and I'll give them/you more details in the near future. Just be aware that I would expect them/you to put more effort into backgrounds than I do, so they would have to look decent. (If that makes sense.)

Hmm, this sounds interesting and I'd love to apply, but I have a lot going on with school so I don't want to distract from that. ^^; Plus, it's a lot harder for me to do things like that on the computer (whereas all of my christmas money is going into buying more ink and Bristol board so I can finish some comics work I've been meaning to try). Hope you can find someone, though, and if you're ever in a jam and desperately need a random artist don't hesitate to ask! ^^

Mm, well, thanks guys for thinkin' about it.

I also posted on the Smack Jeeves forums but no one seems interested. Probably because they wouldn't get the glory of the pretty art and I didn't put in a lot of details of the comic so it didn't sound interesting.

Guess I'm stuck doing it myself, it seems. Oh well. It's the readers who will really suffer. Mwahahahaha!

I'm trying to. It's just been a few days and no posts. I'm not planning on starting the comic for a little while longer, so I'll let it go for a week or two before I give up completely.

I can make some lakes, trees, etc., and you can use them if you'd like.

you'd have to wait for a few weeks tho', until my scanner is back in commision.

Eh, no thanks. That's okay. It takes place in a city and I don't know if the city has a big park and even if it does, if it'll be used. Thanks for the offer though.

Hmm, have you thought about asking Ghost? She does a lot already, what with Lepordia and Black Meowth, but she draws traditionally but modifies it to look digital (or just draws digitally, I think that's what goes on), and is fast (judging by the speed at which we get BM, eh?) and her city layout in the cover of Lepordia looked great. (: Just a suggestion. I hope you don't have to give up the idea, it sounds cool even if I don't know anything about it (because all of your ideas are good)

I can draw wonky cities. XD The look messed up. I could draw any number of backgrounds for you to use, but it'd be prettier if you used a tone off of the internet.

I'd like to avoid tones as it could get repetitive. But I may resort to that just because of sheer laziness. Very Happy

You just need to use a ruler repetitively to make your cities look city-like!

Hey! D< Don't degrade cities! It takes a lot more than just a ruler or T-square. You need to keep perspective in mind, and layouts, details, and things can be so confusing... It's so hard to draw cities.
