Like I've said previously, Gotta Past wasn't toing to begin with Hillaree's story. I actually had the first four pages of the chapter it was supposed to be drawn up. I drew them a while ago, so I'll probably draw them over just because they suck.

To ease me back into comic making, I scanned the first two pages and put them in Manga Studio. I didn't do shading or tones, just added the borders and word bubbles. (Well, the second page has a tone but that's only because I thought the transistion needed it.)

So they aren't really "finished" pages, but here they are. I'll just link them so they don't spoil each other.

Oh, at first I thought it was the friend speaking, but was it Shomaru? then maybe Hilaree IS of Numan descent. Or perhaps he was referring to the numan woman with the antennae hair. Anyway, this is quite intriguing. I'm sure it'll raise quite a few more interesting theories as this chapter unfolds and we maybe learn about the friend...

Yup, it was Shomaru. He is a very important character, even though he hasn't been seen much or been able to do much just yet. But we'll get more of him . . . sometime.

I experimented with different outfits for Shomaru and Minshen there, but I don't really like how they came out so I'll probably change them again or back to what they were.

Ooh, mysterious. I liked especially the last two panels on the second page--I thought they really did a good job of expressing the characters' emotions, though little was said. Looking forward to seeing more of this storyline develop.

Heh, thanks for that! I always worry that expressing emotions with the numans will be too hard where they don't have mouths. (Therefore, all expressions have to be shown with the eyes, and even those don't have pupils and such.) So I'm glad that their emotions got across.
