Diamond and/or Pearl?

I thought the best thing to start out this forum would be to talk about which version everyone is getting. Then you can talk about the starter you're choosing and the team you're going to train first, (if decided.)

I've talked about my choice already. It's Diamond version for me! Maybe I'll get Pearl later, but Diamond to start out with. I already have it preordered on Pokémon Center.com.

My starter will of course be Chimchar. From there, my team will be Buizel, Kricketot, Mime Jr., Starly, and Shinx. They're all cuties.

I've also mentioned before but I decided this time that I would train all new Pokémon. I usually have a Pokémon from an older generation on my team. Not this time! This'll be a new experience.

Mime Jr. of course brings up a problem with this. I decided not to have him evolve. At least not for a while.

So there's my decision(s). What about you guys? I may not get an answer for a while unless you saved the link to this forum seeing how Smack Jeeves is down . . .

I'm getting Pearl, because EVERYONE else is getting Diamond (Literally, everyone. I'm serious. Not one of my friends has preordered/stated a wish to buy Pearl.), so I'll have a trading advantage.

I'm going to start with Chimchar, because I am a fanatic over the Monkey King legend and I'm going to name him Goku or Wukong.

I think my team'll consist of a few Pokemon I really find helpful and that are good to train. I'll trade over some from other versions to make it so (But I really don't want to trade Celebi over because I can't trade it back and can't multiply it on Emerald because it's legenday.)

So far, I've planned out starting with Chimchar, Barboach, Poochyena, Totodile, and Burizeru (name?).

I really like working with Wishcash, and I have one named Wish on sapphy that is very close to me, so I want to try and train another.

I haven't decided on many of the names yet. I know I want to call my Chimchar Dodger. I don't know what I'm going to call myself or my other Pokémon . . .

Why Dodger? That's an involved question. Basically, when I was little, I would name my stuffed animals with names I heard in movies I liked so I wouldn't forget the movies. I named a teddy bear Dodger after a monkey from a movie I had just seen. ("Monkey Business" or something?) I don't remember anything about the movie now except the name Dodger and that there was a monkey in it, so my plan didn't really work. But it is giving me a monkey name to use now.

Most everyone I know except me is getting Pearl. But that means I'll have trading options. Even more so with Wi-Fi!

I don't know if I'll be doing much battling with the Wi-Fi. I'd probably get my butt kicked. I just choose attacks and Pokémon I like. I don't focus on strategy or anything.

I also can't wait to transfer Pokémon from the older games. You know that means tons of Mewtwo's!

I heard that using Gamesharks can prevent you from battling, but does it stop you from being able to trade on Wi-Fi? I hope not. I hate being broke in Pokémon . . .

Hmm...I won't use an Action Replay, even though I could get some pretty good stuff! But I won't..Wi-Fi will be very fun!

I will try to resist using it. My only question is if it will know that the Pokémon I transfer from old games that were affected by cheat codes. If not, then I don't have anything to worry about. If it does, then it'll stop my Wi-Fi and junk. I guess we'll see when it comes out.

I don't know enough about how it's all going to work with the Wi-Fi to say. I'll avoid codes probably just to be safe but . . . Mewtwo . . .

I don't like cheats most of the time. I used to, but I keep getting banned from tournaments with my Sapphire... Plus, I'm cursed. Every time I buy an Action Replay, it breaks within two hours. Honestly.

But I don't mind it when my friends do, so I'm not going to get on anyone's back about cheating. XDDD I say, (I swear I'm not just copying Vye, I really feel this way too) if you have more fun and won't ruin the game for others, go ahead! Pokemon isn't exactly a MMORPG.

The tournaments thing I don't have to worry about because I've never entered. And I've talked about my views on cheat codes before. It's a game, have fun with how you want to play it.

I just worry that it'll keep me from hanging out on the Wi-Fi or trading. I know that codes keep you from battling, but I'm not sure about the rest.

I think most games are fine to use cheats on. My view is only that if you're going to go multiplayer, just make sure the other(s) are okay with it. I mean, they're made for you to enjoy!

For me, training Pokemon and breeding them is the fun part. I don't really enjoy the storyline as much as just getting different types and training them to the best of their potential. I feel like I lose all the fun using Rare Candy cheats or getting free Manaphies and whatnot. :/ I love to train them. That's my passion.

Hey, the wi-fi rooms'll look like the Union Room, right? We could all go on at once when D&P come out!

I can hardly wait for Diamond to come out, but I haven't even started playing Pokémon Ranger! I'm so busy!

Well, you could if you got Diamond or Pearl and then transfered Mewtwo over and then trade to me using Wi-Fi.

But don't worry. I'll get as many Mewtwo's as I want by any means necessary.

I think Mewtwo is to good for me, sadly I don't think even my level 100 Mew could beat him..or Aruseus...he's just to dang awsome!
