Does anyone play old games on their DS?

I know in the DS instructions it says not to play anything on it except DS games and GBA SP games, but I'm wondering if there are people out there who break these rules.

Also, it's kinda hard to tell the difference between a GBA game and a GBA SP game. They're exactly the same.

The DS isn't compatible with GB/GBC cartridges, unfortunately. I use my SP, game boy color, olllld gameboy, or gameboy advance to play my games more often than not. It isn't a 'rule'; it's physically impossible to fit and play the old cartridges in a Revolution.
Oranges_and_Pears

I guess...but it also says that you can't play regular GBA games.
Amjam

No, the people who wrote it are stupid. There's no difference between "GBA" and "GBA SP" games. XD I think they were just trying to clarify or something.
Vye Brante

They probably just mean, (sorta,) that the GBA SP is the newest so they referred to it as that.  (Newest out of the Advance systems, of course.)

I've never tried to play the old games on it.  I've done Advance games but I never went older than that, I don't think.  Probably won't bother now.

On a side note, I hate it when parents who don't know anything walk into Wal-Mart and ask for a Game Boy.  Then I have to figure out what they want, usually saying, "The DS or the Game Boy Advance SP."  And then there are the parents who reply, "No, I think it's just Game Boy Advance."  Then I have to explain how they don't make Advances anymore, (I think they've even stopped the SP's as we are out and I haven't seen any come in for a long time,) and so they would have to go the SP or Micro.

On another note, I just learned that the Micro will only play Advance games and not the Color or original Game Boy games.  I didn't know that.

So, there's your little needless nuggets of what I learn and do at Wal-Mart.

Yeah, I hate it when parents do that. My first game system was a GameBoy Advance (regular) and when my dad bought it for me, he asked the store clerk for "A game boy" and the store clerk thought he meant one of the old ones so he told my dad that "you should go to a used games store for that" so my dad almost did when a younger store clerk told him that what he was looking for was really a game boy advance, and...

Anyways, on an unrelated topic, I was at toys-r-us looking at Pokemon games (sometimes they're on sale there!) and I saw an SP that had Pikachu markings. Too bad I couldn't buy it.

My friend had an SP with a torchic on it.  You could only see it when light reflected on it.
Vye Brante

I have an SP with a Charizard on it.  I love it.
Oranges_and_Pears

Both my SP and my DS are boring blue. Oh well.
Amjam

My gameboy colors are yellow (normal, not Pikachu >w<) and green, and the green one has Pokémon stickers on it but it's secondhand, so it came that way. My olllld gameboy is just that normal dingy grey brown color, my advance is white (and I love it dearly), my SP is red and I also use my sister's light blue one (because she has a DS now) and I wanted to save up for the dialga/palkia DS, but as of yet I don't think I'll get one. :3

So many gameboys. @_@ Trading with myself and having the tools to trade at someone else's house or at a con or in line for LE things is always necessary to me.

I have as follows.

GameBoy Pocket: Red
GameBoy Color: Purple
GameBoy Advance: Purple
GameBoy Advance Sp: Red and Orange with Charizard print on it
Nintendo DS: Red
Nintendo DS Lite: Red and Black

Yup.  My favorite color is red, but I didn't really get to choose the color on the Color or Advance ones.

I like being able to trade with myself too.

I have:

Gameboy (the original)
Gameboy color: lime green
Gameboy advance: Pink (yay colors!)
Advance SP: Blue
DS: silver

no ds lite, no PSP

I don't have a PSP yet, but I'm going to buy one for myself for my birthday.  (It's coming up!)
Georgia

I only have a Silver Ds...Which I love dearly. <3
...Except it has teeth markings on it. o.o;
Vye Brante

Heh, whose teeth?  (Or is it who's?  I always forget.)
Georgia

Mine, but, you see, the Mantyke wouldn't get into the pokeball! I'm serious! It took me about 15 pokeballs to get it! >_<;

EDIT:I have sharp teeth... >_>
Vye Brante

Heh, I see.
Oranges_and_Pears

I never had a Color, but my friend's was red.

My GBA was pink (my dad got it for me).

My SP was blue.

My DS is blue.

I do not own a Lite. I want one, though...some nice blue color...
Ghost

I only have the following...

GameBoy Colour: Red
GameBoy Advance SP: Red

But... My friend's let me have his silver SP for the past year or so and I occasionally play on my brother's blue DS or my sister's LOZ DS Lite if I have to.

I want her DS, seriously. It has the triforce on it and everything. =D
Vye Brante

Ah, one of those.  Neat.  I like my red one better though.
kirbyboy102

I want that rose colored DS Lite!  I think it's called Metallic Rose?  or is it Desert Rose?  I dunno, it's a nice pink color.  Not the bright pink one, but it's prettier and a darker hue, almost purple-tinted.
