mah poke-drawins!!

Yeah, I've been drawing the pokeymans since I was 12 (Which is roughly 10 years...scary...) I've been drawing them on-and-off for a while, but I can figure out how to draw most of them in just a few minutes.

MISMAGIUS
I did this one a couple of days ago. Mismagius is surprisingly tricky to draw!! I finally figured out that it's head is an oblong lemon shape rather than a simple circle, and that solved most of my problems. Mismagius actually shares a few design traits with Darkrai.

TIPS FOR DRAWING MISMAGIUS:
When drawing Mismagius, aside from the lemon-head. it is important to remember that the "Hat" is really just Misdreavus's hair making a hat shape, so a view from the back is quite spiky and hairy. The "hat" also sticks to the forehead and moves back, rather than hanging evenly over all sides. The longest parts of the "skirt" on the very front are simply rectangular-shaped objects with the wavy, ghostly parts being drawn onto the inside corner. Mismagius only has three neck stones, all of which are a somewhat diamond shape. It's "body" before the skirt is shaped a bit like a football. It's mouth also slightly protrudes forward, rather than simply being stuck on.

Sorry for the late update and lack of pictures.

These are some model sheets for Ralts, my trainer Kirk's best (and only) pokemon. I notice my Ralts have some pretty hefty differences from other people's Ralts, most notably the use of eyebrows through the "helmet" to convey expression. I haven't seen anyone else take this approach. I also make fairly thick fins. This Ralts in particular also has a larger body (not smaller head) than most Ralts and is quite expressive.

TIPS FOR DRAWING RALTS:
Ralts is basically a big, ball-shaped head in an army hat with a couple of wispy arms and feet. Think those ghosts people Japanese put in their houses to scare-off rain. Their neck is narrow and their arms come pretty much immediately with little space for the neck before the body. Their body continues to flare out into their legs. I feel the tufts of "cloth" trailing the feet are optional and in my opinion act like pants, fitting more comfortably as the Ralts grows.

KIRK'S RALTS:

Kirk's Ralts is an odd example of the species. While most Ralts are shy and meek, Kirk's Ralts is surprisingly forceful and outgoing. The process of Ralts becoming Kirk's partner was what Kirk described as "possibly the oddest capture known to man", involving getting permission from Ralts's parents to join him on his journey. Ralts also has an unusual hereditary mutation: She has some copper and iron deposits in the roof of her mouth and her jaw which allow her to not only utilize every Electric attack a Ralts can learn, but also fire them out of her mouth rather than a full-body attack (Meaning she doesn't risk hurting herself if she's wet). Ralts and her family all carry this mutation and can power small appliances (like a TV or PS2) by putting the plug into their mouth.

Monopolizing Kirk's training, due to being his only pokemon, Ralts is exceptional in battle. While still quite frail, Ralts has a number of speed, evasion, and stalling techniques at her disposal and is a force to be reckoned with.
Phoenix of Chaos

Ralts looks like a stickman in a battle, and I can imagine that really well! Keep it up!
Also, request: Could you draw a Vaporeon?
Kohdok

I can give it a try. Man, how long as it been since I've tried drawing Vaporoen. Like, forever?

Anyway, here it is, a quick and dirty Vaporeon:

TIPS FOR DRAWING VAPOREON: Vaporeon's body is very cat-like, being more slender, relaxed, and graceful than its other evo-stone counterparts. It doesn't have much of a muzzle, either, which furthers the cat-look (compared with Jolteon, which has a fairly large muzzle, especially in the anime). It's thick, long tail accounts for a lot of its additional weight, as it is the heaviest Eeveelution to date, so it's not light and fluffy like other Eeveelution's tails. For a cuter look, mute the spikiness of the neck frill and round-out the eyes.

Very nice drawings! And cool tips for drawing, I'm sure they'll come in handy Wink

I especially like your Raltz trying to use the Shadow Ball hadoken. (Usually that pose reminds me of 'kaaaameeeeehaaaaameeeeaaaaaaaa!!!' xD)

Normally it would, except that Kirk's Ralts fully charges and throws a Shadow-Ball at Hadoken-level speed (Which is fast!)
Ghost

Wow, these are great ^^~

If I ever need to draw these guys, I'll be sure to drop by and take a look :3

Just out of curiosity, what's the hardest one you've ever drawn, you think?

Well, a lot of pokemon have their own quirks that make them hard to draw, but I'd say I had the most trouble with Groudon, due to all of its details (He's the hardest I've attempted drawing). Gyarados looks like a nightmare, too, and I've never tried one. I used to have T-tar down pat, but I'm not so sure about that anymore.

Any more requests? Anyone want me to analyze a pokemon for you to help you draw it? I'm here if you need me!
Phoenix of Chaos

*sees the Vaporeon*
O_o <3
*Wild PoC fainted!*

Gyarados isn't as tough as it looks. It's the same pattern all down its snaky body xD Basically, if you can get the head down pat (Nothing too complicated - Dragon with fin ears. It's essentially like drawing Salamence with lipstick.), the rest of it should come easily. It's segmented with the occasional fin. If you draw it once, you won't even need to  sketch it next time.

Ashachu'd!!

I'm sure we all know what Ashachu is, but doing it yourself with a different character and a different pokemon isn't always a walk in the park. Based on what I've seen from Ashachu, I've made a quick analysis and come up with a way to do it. It might be useful if you want to try it or if your character ever meets up with Lily or another Pokemon Magician.

Here's my main character Kirk after being Ashachu'd, or, more specifically, "Kirkmagius'd".

The big physical traits in Ashachuing someone are the eyes, the hair, and the headgear. I replaced the normal Mismagius eyes with Kirk's more square-shaped eyes and small irises. He also has rather spikey hair, so I added additional spikes to the hat as well as bangs around his face (which are separated out because of how Mismagius's hair works with the tips being lighter). A baseball cap would just look plain goofy on a Mismagius sitting on the top of the point of the "hat". However Kirk wears a white headband (like Ryu...sorta...) so there's no problem.

I also kept his personality in mind. Kirk isn't exactly a cheerful person, so the "happy W" of mismagius wouldn't work, so I changed it to a sour "M" shape.

TIPS FOR ASHACHUING SOMEONE!: The Eyes pretty much directly translate onto the new face, keeping the same shape as their human counterpart, but keeping somewhat in line with their new form. Also, the character's hairstyle can influence the look of the Ashachu'd person. While this can be tricky on a pokemon without fur or hair, this can be done with some spotting (or even hair-like growths) to make the pokemon more resemble their human counterpart. Also, while the other clothes usually disappear, the headgear stays, and perhaps a vest if it would fit (If they change into a Blaziken, for example, they could keep a vest).

The rest of the form, for the most part, remains unchanged, so it helps to have a good knowledge of how to draw the pokemon in question. Despite their new Pokemon status, Ashachu'd people cannot speak pokespeak and their use of pokemon attacks would probably be clumsy at best.

There are tons of situations where this can be used! Your character might take a tumble into Bill's teleporter (like Bill did). You can also use this to make distinct Mystery Dungeon characters if you need to; making your poke-character stand out from the others is important to keep the story coherent. Just think of the Pichu Brothers and you'll do fine.

Ashachu'd!!

Double Posting!?! Oh no!! Quick! Use a picture of a cute pokemon as a distraction!

Vye Brante

Why the double post?  Like a day later?  Just wondering . . .
Kohdok

I dunno... I think it did that itself...
Ghost

O.O! LATIAS!! -flytackles-

The prospect of an Ashachu sounds rather interesting =3
Thanks for the whole explanation ^_^
Vye Brante

It was just odd to me that it popped up a day later.  Weird . . .

Cute Latias!
Phoenix of Chaos

I, for one, won't be impressed until I see a Vaporeon or other Eevee-loution in this mysterious Ashachu form. Or maybe Milotic, that'd be cool... in a weird kinda way.
