The Word BubblesI've realized lately that my word bubbles don't make a whole lot of sense. Taking into account how other comics do them, it might be kinda confusing.
Here's what I mean. This is how the run down works now:
1 Person/Pokemon in the panel talking: No tail
2 or more People/Pokemon in the panel: Tail points to person talking
1 or more Person(s)/Pokemon talking, but not shown in the panel: Tail inside the bubble, "cutting" out a piece of the bubble; Put at different angles to show a different person talking
Hillaree's thoughts: No bubble, italizied text
Everyone else's thoughts: Bubble with bubbly tail, italizied text
1 Person/Pokemon in the panel using Telepathy: Double bubble
2 or more People/Pokemon in the panel using telepathy: Double bubble with bubbly tail towards person talking
1 or more Person(so)/Pokemon using telepathy, but not shown in the panel: Double bubble with part of bubble tail inside the main bubble
Make sense? I think I covered everything.
My main concern is with the first few items listed. A lot of comics out there use a tail when the person in in the panel, and then don't have a tail if the person is outside the panel, the opposite of how I do it. I think that is a little confusing, especially if you read these other comics and then come back to Just Gotta.
I think it'd work like this:
1 Person/Pokemon in the panel talking: Tail towards person talking
1 Person/Pokemon outside panel talking, and same Person/Pokemon throughout that page: No tail
2 or more People/Pokemon talking outside panel talking: Tail on the inside of the bubble, "cutting" into the bubble
Does that make sense too? Feel free to give me input and ask questions before voting. I'd like to know what your thoughts are before Chapter 10 starts, which isn't too far away.
